Shannara

Brooks' first book, The Sword of Shannara, written in the 1977 was so popular that it became the first New York Times Paperback Bestseller on the genre of fiction, which it held that position for over five months!

This did not end, but saw the birth of two other shannara books namely, "The Elfstones of Shannara" which in turn resulted in the birth of "The Wishsong of Shannara".

The third book set the footing for the Ohmford family line to inherit magic and thus continues with The Heritage of Shannara Series, where Walker attempts to rebuild the Druid Council but fails.

And the next series, The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara where we see an Ohmford being chosen again to take that position of restoring the Druid Council to its former glory.

Lastly, High Druid of Shannara brings us back into the scene where the council was rebuilt but torn apart by greed, ambition and corruption of Mankind.
